What a bloody lovely person! I spoke to Ian twice, once during my in-person pre-operative consultation and once for my post-operative removal of dressings. Both times I met Ian, he was the very definition of both professional and personable. In the first appointment, he explained everything clearly and gave me plenty of time to ask any questions, which was very helpful as it can take some time for me to process information. During the second appointment, he was very careful and considerate with me and was genuinely happy to see me and the results of my surgery, even complimenting the other surgeon on their work (which I whole-heartedly agree with). In both appointments, he suffered my terrible self-deprecating humour admirably and deserves a medal just for not rising to that, tbh. HIGHLY recommend.

I had an in-person consultation for my top surgery with Mr Ian Whitehead. He gave me a general rundown of what to expect from this type of surgery, what the risks are, the likelihood of complications, and what to realistically expect. He was very patient with discussing my concerns, and he was very helpful with guiding me through the decision of what type of top surgery to get. I felt comfortable throughout the consultation, including when I had to undress in order for him to take my chest measurements.

Dr Ian Whitehead was the main consultant during my whole surgery procedure. He was very helpful and friendly, reassuring and I couldn't be any happier with the results! I was worried my scars would of had to be joined together which was a fear of mine but it wouldn't be the end of the world but Dr Ian and the other surgeons managed to prevent that! I wouldn't of gone to any other hospital for this surgery and would travel over 250 miles any day! Thank you so so much for everything!

Mr Whitehead did my actual surgery (bilateral mastectomy with nipple grafts). On the day, he introduced himself and explained everything that would be happening and gave me an estimated timeframe. He drew on my chest where the incisions would go and arrows to where my nipples would be, which was absolutely brilliant because this was the first time I was actually able to picture my new chest. He was very welcoming, made me feel comfortable and was able to answer any questions so I was confident in his ability. I am now 2 weeks post op and could not be any happier with my results - everything is looking symmetrical and healing well. I would highly recommend him for top surgery.
